Avery Old Coyote

Avery S. Old Coyote belongs to the Apsáalooke People of the Crow Nation on his dad’s side and belongs to the Qlispe People of the Flathead Nation on his mom’s side. Avery currently teaches Native American Studies at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, California, where he also guides on the American and Tuolumne Rivers. Avery has dedicated his professional and academic advocacy toward environmental issues, in particular riparian protection; he also supports Indigenous Peoples' rights and advocates for human rights for all Peoples.
